Here's a brief update to the daily and weekly comments that I receive from clients concerning the MaxCut Star 900 special coated edm wire.

A Mitsubishi FX-20 user spoke with me yesterday.  He's only been running the MaxCut Star 900 wire for a short time.  He's previously been a gamma-phase wire user.

Apparently his wire edm department is very satisfied with the results of the Star 900 versus the gamma-phase wire he was using.  Apparently the well-known gamma-phase wire was causing his people down time, due to wire breakage.  Additionally, I'm told by this customer that the Star 900 wire has mustered up better cutting speeds for them.

This seems to be the theme of many of our clients, i.e. faster cutting speeds, less wire useage (while maintaining threading reliability, accuracy, and finish).

This wire is available in 0.25mm and 0.30mm diameters in a variety of spool configurations (i.e. 7.7-lb, 11-lb, 17.5-lb, 22-lb, 35-lb, 44-lb, and 55-lb spools).  It's also available in the hard version "Star 900" and the half-hard version, "Star 520".
